Enrico Franzolini Designer Enrico Franzolini (b. 1952), Italy.Enrico Franzolini Biography:Enrico Franzolini was born in Udine in 1952. He studied in Florence and graduated in Architecture at the University of Venice. n 1972 he was invited to the 36th Biennale Exhibition of decorative arts in Venice, exhibiting two objects produced by the Livio Seguso glass-manufactory in Murano. In 1978 his first personal exhibition at Plurima Gallery in Udine marked the beginning of his interest in minimal architecture. At the same time however he became interested in architecture and interior and product design. After earning recognition from specialized magazines like Domus, Modo, Abitar and Interni, Franzolini began working on a variety of high-profile projects across Italy. He has worked with several of the most important furniture companies such as Accademia, Alias, Cappellini, Foscarini and Knoll to name a few.Enrico Franzolini Design:The passion and young artistic research of Enrico Franzolini are reflected in numerous solo and group participations in trade fairs, starting with a presence at the 1972 Venice Biennale , in the decorative arts. Enrico Franzolini began his cooperation with Pedrali Lab drawing the chair collection Jil: sidechair, armchair, lounge chair, stool and sofa, all upholstered on an oak frame. There is a huge range of both fabrics and eco leathers, all carefully matching the tobacco or bleached oak frame colours. Of classic elegance but still current, Jil is also the result of an accurate study of proportions and ergonomics.Enrico Franzolini Furniture and Lighting:Recognition of Enrico Franzolini's artistic talents first came in 1972 when two of his glass pieces were exhibited at the Venice Biennale. With his interests moving more towards architecture and industrial design, he established his own atelier in 1978, specializing in architectural restoration and industrial design. Franzolini has since worked on lighting and furniture collections for some of the most prestigious design companies in the world. In 1989 Knoll introduced the Franzolini chair, a thoroughly modern interpretation of the bentwood chair. The design, an elegant combination of wood, steel and textiles, featured graceful lines and echoed attributes from several of Franzolini's historical influencers.
