The Paloform Caldera outdoor fireplace is characterized by its understated elegance, clean lines and remarkable attention to detail that can only be accomplished with natural weathering cor-ten steel. Inspired by the crater left by a sunken volcano, Caldera is a bold and sculptural fire feature. Formed in 3/16" Corten steel, it's substantial size (45x45x12"), square form and natural weathering patina finish make it a thoroughly modern fire pit: the perfect focal point for a contemporary outdoor setting. Caldera's square modernist footprint allows it to be easily incorporated into any modern landscape design and creates a modern fire frame that serves as a clean counterpoint to the soft randomness of fire. Corten steel firepits are pre-weathered to provide even patina coverage.

Installation:
Regular wood burning edition does not require professional installation; just unpack and you are ready to go. If selecting the natural gas- or propane fueled edition, professional installation is necessary. Although the installation is straightforward, professional installation is required by a licensed contractor in compliance with local building codes. Check your local building codes if a permit is required. Natural Gas or Propane Fueled editions are rated for installations up to 4500’ (1372 m) above sea level. Above 4500’ the appliance must be derated at the factory for the appropriate altitude unless the local fuel is pre derated. For outdoor use only.

Ignition:
The Caldera modern fire pit may be ordered for wood burning, or with your choice of natural gas or propane burners. Our burners are available in two styles: a manually-lit version with standing pilot and safety thermocouple, or with electronic ignition that may be controlled with a wall switch or wireless remote. Our burners are ETL listed, certified to CSA and ANSI standards for the U.S. and Canada. At 60,000-69,0000 BTu/h, they provide a beautiful flame and cozy warmth to extend your enjoyment of the outdoors into the chilliest seasons.

Packaging:
This fireplace will be securely packaged in an easy-to-open wooden crate. Crate disassembles within minutes by using a flat head screwdriver. The fireplace base ships fully assembled. Topping medium will be separately packaged and will need to be spread out over fire pit after the installation.

What's in the box:
Caldera fire pit. Natural gas and propane fueled edition comes complete with your choice of topping medium (light- or dark grey pebbles, black- or red lava). Manual match-lit edition is standard on natural gas and propane fueled editions: electronic ignition (remote start) is also available and comes with a handheld remote (Skylink Receiver and Remote). .
