The Ball ceiling fan efficiently moves plenty of air so you'll keep air moving, feel cooler, and there will be less need to run the air conditioning continuously. This beautiful modern ceiling fan cools in the spring and summer and moves stagnant air during heating season in fall and winter. The Ball fan features a simple, vertical orientation particularly appropriate for lofts, stores and other high-ceiling applications. The fan (only) is Energy Star certified, made of all die-cast aluminum and offered in a hand brushed aluminum or gloss white finish. The plywood laminate blades have a 14° pitch and are available in a white, aluminum or maple finish with a 42" or 52" blade span.

The motor is a high power silicon steel unit with 18 poles, designed for long life and cool running, and is controlled by two capacitors. The motor of the Ball Fan can run at any of three speeds set by the control. Several switching and control options for both speed and light control are available as options. Optional light kits include a halogen spot light which provides direct illumination (adds 2" to height of the fan), and an incandescent or fluorescent glass globe which diffuses light and provides general illumination (adds 3" to height of the fan).

Includes 6" and 16" downrods for 15" or 25" overall height. Optional downrods are available for alternate heights. The Ball fan can accommodate a sloped ceiling up to 33°. For slopes over 33 degrees but under 45 degrees, use the sloped ceiling adaptor (sold separately).

Selecting the right fan, what you need to know:

The more space between the blades and the ceiling, the more effectively your fan will circulate and distribute air. However, building codes require that the blades of a ceiling fan must be at least 7-feet above the floor. Generally, we recommend hanging the fan as far down from the ceiling as is visually appropriate, while maintaining the 7-foot blade clearance above the floor. When dealing with higher ceilings, one-third the distance to the floor is a good guideline. We generally recommend one of our hugger models for 8-foot ceilings. Keep in mind that optional light kits may add several inches to the overall length of the fan.

In nearly all cases, our 52-inch blade span is the most appropriate selections. The 42-inch blade spans should be reserved for smaller rooms or narrow spaces (10-foot-by-10-foot and smaller) or when airflow to the area above the blades is blocked or restricted by architectural elements (beams, walls, cabinetry, etc.). Occasionally, two 42-inch fans may be a desirable alternative to one 52-inch fan.

The Modern Fan Co ceiling fans do not use conventional pull chains which is a nice minimal design feature (with the exception of the Industry model). When ordering your fan, you should select the control that is most appropriate for your fan and electrical requirements. All controls (except the #009A and #009B) are designed for use with one fan only.

Assembly and installation is required. Power supply must be turned off prior to any contact with electrical wires. As with any electrical product, it is recommended that a licensed electrician be hired to install your ceiling fan.
