Flos IC Light S Pendant Lamp by Michael Anastassiades. The Flos IC Pendant Lights were designed by Cypriot designer Michael Anastassiades for FLOS lighting in Italy. IC S by Flos are jewel-like pendant lights that embody Anastassiades' angular aesthetic. These Flos pendant lamps have a refined and understated elegance. A brilliant fusion of light and balance, Flos lighting's new IC Lights set out to challenge the equilibrium of illumination. IC Lights playfully balance light and simplicity. A 30cm glass sphere hangs from an anthracite stem, protruding out from an improbable slanting baton. The appearance appears unstable, as if the opalescent ball may fall from its mouring at any time - but thatÕs exactly what the London-based Cypriot designer was setting out to achieve. The lights reflect Anastassiades's love of industrial simplicity. He likens the design to a juggling act in which both sphere and baton are skillfully balanced.

Michael Anastassiades's collection of IC Lights is a range of elegant forms, an opaque globe delicately balanced with a metal stem at near impossible angles. The IC Light was inspired by the mesmerizing movement of a juggler as he effortlessly appears to make a ball move at will and balance at unexpected angles. In addition, the letters IC refer to the identity code used to assess immigrants entering the UK. This element of balance also applies to the lives of these people as they juggle to adjust to a new society and its demands.

Offering plenty of scope, Anastassiades's IC Lights from Stardust are available in wall-mounted, table and hanging versions from Flos. Stardust offers a wide choice of painted anthracite or brushed brass finishes, with a 7.87" diffuser and 60W G9 Frosted Halogen giving 980 lumens, or larger 11.8" diffuser with a 150W T-10 Medium Frosted Halogen giving 1980 lumens.
