Who can resist the Eames Plywood Elephant? The Eames® 31" (Full Size) Plywood Elephant (originally on sale in a limited edition: now in series) was designed by Charles & Ray Eames and is made by Vitra. Designed by the Eameses in 1945, "EAMES ELEPHANT" is made with molded plywood with face veneer in Ash Grey At first difficult to manufacture, Vitra has now been able to re-create this better-known Eames design according to the exact specifications of the designers. Just like its larger counterpart (the African elephant); each is characterized by a kind and spiritual demeanor. Each Vitra-created Elephant is unique, artistic and elegant and will feel right at home in a living- or bedroom. Price is for one (1) piece. This is an original Vitra design with label. Packaged in Vitra cardboard box.

Limited edition introduced by Vitra in 2007. Now to be produced in a series for the very first time. Dimensions: 31"L x 13.75"W x 16.5"H (78.5 x 35 x 33H cm). Ships fully assembled. Use: indoor (not outdoor).

The Eames Elephant is also available in plastic, ideal for children, as well as in a scaled-down version, Eames Elephant (small), which comes in a variety of colors and is also made of plastic.

American architect & design team Charles/Ray Eames (est. 2000) most famous creation is the Plywood Elephant from the mid 1940s. One prototype was shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1946 and still survives in the Eames family archive. The designers demonstrated how good design can improve quality of life and human understanding and knowledge with iconic creations such as their Lounge & Ottoman, various chairs and objects. Practical, comfortable and Stylish, Eames® combined an extraordinarily high level of craftsmanship with elegant style. They are known for their coin phrase "Design is for living."
