Kay Bojesen Wooden Rocking Horse by Rosendahl. Perhaps the most gifted item in Denmark for newborns and toddlers; the classic wooden Kay Bojesen Rocking Horse is a staple of Scandinavian design. Created by legendary Danish wooden toy designer Kay Bojesen. This lovely hand crafted wooden toy horse was designed in 1936 and is a beloved classic of many Danish households as it is passed on generation after generation. Young ones can gallop, trot, canter and race on this playtime classic from Rosendahl while adults can appreciate its stylish design features.. One day Kay Bojesen said: "From now on, no children are going to be bored." Shortly thereafter, he sat down and drew his Rocking Horse so easily it almost popped up from the paper. The Rocking Horse is stiff-legged and erect but with a trustworthy and open face. With heirloom quality design, construction and looks, this Rocking Horse is bound to please children, parents and generations to come.

The Wooden Rocking Horse was designed by Kay Bojesen. Kay Bojesen (1886‰ے1958) was an apprentice of Georg Jensen, training as a silversmith in 1910. After a few years in Germany and France, he began working as a silversmith in Copenhagen. In the 1930s he realised there was something particularly lively about wood, and his wooden figures have made him one of the great pioneers of Danish art manufacture. Happily, Kay Bojesen was far too curious to restrict himself to the work of refining metals, and he began experimenting with other materials. In the course of his exploration, he discovered wood as a material with very special possibilities for industrial treatment and styling. This discovery led to the classic guardsmen and a whole zoological garden taking shape between his hands.
