BIG POUF from the Bandas collection, a piece that can be used as a footrest or as a seat, as well as part of a modular sofa in combination with the chairs and chaiselongue modules of the series. The fabric, with an abstract and colorful embroidery, is made by hand with two wool threads of two different thicknesses. The piece is also accented with an attractive trim.

BANDAS, A GAN SPACES COLLECTION
GAN spaces are collections meticulously constructed from innovative concepts and artisanal production methods. Ten designs, countless combinations. Dreamed up by Patricia Urquiola, the BANDAS collection is one of the most flexible and customisable designs GAN has come up with. Velcro strips affix these dynamic and colourfully embroidered pieces either to poufs or to each other to make floor tapestries. The collection combines two types of textiles and techniques: a fine fabric produced on a handloom, used for covering poufs and as a basis for the rugs themselves, on which the design is hand embroidered using two thicknesses of wool yarn.

PATRICIA URQUIOLA, DESIGNER OF THE BANDAS COLLECTION
Patricia Urquiola is an architect and designer of Spanish origin who settled in Italy after graduating from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1989. After working with Italian masters of design such as Achille Castiglioni and Vico Magistretti, she founded her own studio in 2001. Since then, she has tackled very diverse projects, from furniture and lighting to ephemeral installations or the integral design of hotels. Her sensitivity to traditional handmade objects and international cooperation in the field of handmade productions led to the start of a fruitful collaboration in 2004 with GAN, which continues to this day.
