Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa introduces Demetra Micro; a minimal and functional table/desk/task lamp for the business or the home office. Stardust had a chance to talk to Naoto Fukasawa about his latest design. Here's what he had to say about the Artemide Demetra Lamp.  Demetra is the goddess of the harvest in Greek mythology. This is not only a reference to the physical aspect of my the Demetra desk lamp which I designed for Artemide but equally to the philosophical perspective, in the sense of "harvesting the benefits of a creative work environment".  In the case of the lamp Demetra, which is produced by Artemide, there is a single but strong new generation-type LED light which is mounted inside the round diffuser of the lamp shade. The light shines directly from the diffuser where a calculated reflector surface spreads the light on to a work plain for optimal reading/work comfort. At the same time this reflector is outfitted with either a dimmable- or motion sensor function which allows to the light to be dimmed according to your preferences.  I have also designed the Artemide Demetra Lamp with a functional interchangeable plug option to accommodate most electrical outlets for global diversity.  Naoto Fukasawa © stardust.com.
