Hans Bunde Wenge Penguin
Architectmade, Denmark
Designer: Hans Bunde
Manufacturer: Architectmade
Hans Bunde originally created Penguin in 1954, one for each of his daughters, and is a collectible Danish figurine with dashingly good looks. This Architectmade Wenge and Beech Wooden Penguin, designed by Hans Bunde in 1954, is available in two sizes; mini (5.11"), small (7.09"), or large (10.24"). It is handcrafted in silky smooth beech and uniquely nuanced wenge wood. The fine lines that appear naturally in wenge wood will get less noticeable over time and will uphold its majestic appearance.
Danish designer Hans Bunde (b. 1919 – d. 1996, Denmark) was one of Denmark's most renowned silversmiths. His designs for Cohr (a Danish silverware company) are all fine examples of Danish mid-20th century design. Depending on how you arrange the Penguins – and whether they appear as singles or as a flock – they elegantly symbolize family ties, friendship and love.
The simple is created in the encounter between form and material possibilities; That's the challenge in all my designs - Hans Bunde.
Dimensions:
Mini: 5.11" (13cm)
Small: 7.09" (18cm)
Large: 10.24" (26cm)
In Stock.
Ships in 1-2 business days or sooner.
